We believe a good internship immerses you in the profession and allows you to apply the things you’re learned from your studies – and who knows, maybe it leads to a full-time opportunity when you graduate. We know that firstly, you are a student, and we expect you to put your studies first. We work with our interns to establish a work schedule that works for you given your course load. When you’re on company time, you can look forward to working on real-world projects for real clients. You may get to help manage the interiors library and create inspiration boards, schedule and meet with product representatives and attend a variety of client meetings and job site visits, assist with finish selections on projects and prepare presentations, and provide additional assistance to project teams and Interior Designers. While the initial focus is on finish selections, presentations, and helping to create design concepts for projects, our ID Interns then transition to a focus on documentation and the interior design role in other design phases. To succeed as an Interior Design Intern at Paragon Architecture, you’ll need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, show initiative, demonstrate willingness and eagerness to learn, and prove yourself as a responsive, reliable member of the team. We are excited to see how you will impact our projects from day one – if you think you’ve got what it takes to make a difference, then we’d like for you to pull a seat up to the table and hear your ideas.
WHO WE ARE
Paragon Architecture is an architecture and interior design firm built on the foundation of FAMILY, RELATIONSHIPS, COMMUNITY, INTEGRITY, and SERVICE. We strive to make a positive impact in our communities on and off the clock. With 12+ years since Paragon got our start, we’ve built a reputation for having a service inclination, generating repeat clients, delivering effective design solutions, and cultivating one of the best companies and teams to work for in the region.
HOW WE WORK
We value the premise that each project is unique and driven by client goals, design opportunities, and unique challenges. Design teams work in a lively and interactive environment with access to modern technology and software programs. Creative design solutions start and end with the project teams, and you aren’t just asked to carry out the vision of a principal who is looming over your shoulder – that sounds awful. We rely on design charettes in our process to promote participation at all levels of the firm while bringing multiple ideas and perspectives to the table.
WHERE WE CALL HOME
We have offices in Springfield, Joplin, and St. Louis, Missouri, with our headquarters in downtown Springfield, MO. Our offices are purposely not in the suburban office park, but in the vibrant walkable downtown environments – we believe it’s another place where we can impact our communities for the better. Paragon Architecture has continued to grow since its inception in 2010, and our reach continues to increase year after year. Our three locations along the I-44 corridor affords us the opportunity to provide architectural services to an array of clients throughout the entire state of Missouri and into neighboring states.
ABOUT OUR BENEFITS
Paragon Architecture places emphasis on professional growth and supports learning through continuing education opportunities. Health, dental, vision and supplemental benefits are offered for eligible full-time employees as well as a 401k plan, paid holidays, and a generous PTO policy. We can also relate to needing some time to reset (after the holidays, especially), so our offices are closed from Christmas to New Year’s Day. Paragon has a distinctive sabbatical program, as well as health and wellness challenges and incentives that are unique to Paragon. Informal learning opportunities are combined with social time at weekly virtual gatherings, monthly celebrations, and seasonal events that provide time for folks to get to know each other better outside of their work on projects.
