State Technical College // Commercial Turf & Grounds

In March of 2020, State Tech saw an opportunity to provide real world learning experiences to their Commercial Turf and Grounds Department by taking over a local struggling Golf Course.  The Commercial Turf and Grounds Department will now have a new learning facility right by the golf course where students can receive hands on experience by caring for the grounds.  This new facility will include classrooms for students to receive traditional instruction, a shop area for their equipment to be housed, and a greenhouse.  A driving range on the back of the facility will feature TopGolf Toptracer to provide golf-ball tracking technology.  Students and community members will be able to overlook the golf course from here and practice their swings, while also playing on simulated golf courses.
