Northwest School District // Master Planning
The Northwest School District Master Plan is a pre-bond master planning project for a local St. Louis school district in the southwestern suburbs of the city which began work in the spring of 2022 and will continue development throughout the summer and fall of 2022. The goal of the project is to develop a solidified list of potential projects which can be presented to the community after the new year in preparation for an eventual bond package vote in April of 2023. The services provided within this project include surveys of the district’s eleven existing facilities as well as an analysis of each school’s current space utilization and circulation patterns across each campus. These surveys were conducted on site throughout the month of May and have since been utilized to develop preliminary documentation and a prioritized list of possible future projects for each school. The current state of the project is a continuation of refining this documentation alongside monthly district committee meetings in which we are introducing and discussing these improvement opportunities with district administrators, school staff and local parents. As this prioritized list of projects continue to be refined, we will also be conducting a demographics survey in a partnership with Preston Smith who will assist us in illustrating the possible spatial needs that the district will face in the next 3-5 years. As Paragon has moved into the Pre-Bond Planning phase, several project designs have been further developed and options are being presented to the District for items that will make it on the next ballot.
Overall, this Master Plan will have covered over 1 million square feet across 11 separate facilities, including:
- 6 Elementary Schools
- 1 Intermediate School
- 2 Middle Schools
- 1 High School
- 1 Early Childhood Education Center
