Diamond School District // Cafeteria & Gymnasium Safe Room Addition

Paragon worked with the Diamond School District on several improvements to their campus.  Nearly 7,000 sq. ft. of the project’s 19,000 sq. ft. is home to the District’s new precast concrete FEMA tornado safe room. Open to the public during severe weather events, the safe room serves as the Elementary School’s day to day gymnasium and cafeteria. An oversized entry canopy announces the safe room entry, allowing bus traffic to pass unimpeded while keeping middle school students, who also utilize the cafeteria addition, dry and protected from the elements. In addition, A.D.A compliant ramps in the hallways were integrated.
